TAFE & Adult Provision Disability MEA across the line

Following several meetings with employers and numerous contributions from our members in the disability sector, the Disability Multi Employer Agreement has been approved by the Fair Work Commission. This rollover agreement will be in effect for 12 months. Having this agreement approved not only brings a pay increase for members but also offers improvements to conditions whilst negotiations continue for a longer-term agreement.

Negotiations will continue this year as we seek funding from the government to secure further improvements. We want to achieve an agreement that sets the standard across the industry and recognises the impressive and valuable work of disability educators.

Over the past several months, we have seen significant growth in union membership within the disability sector. Members and their colleagues have recognised the power of banding together to seek changes that make a difference to their working life. The more members we have, the more changes we can make at the local level, and the more power we will have to influence government and employers to secure an even stronger agreement.
