Effective Mentoring Program

Registrations are now open for the Effective Mentoring Program.

The program equips experienced early childhood teachers with mentoring skills to support provisionally registered teachers at the beginning of their careers and guide them through the Victorian Institute of Teaching’s process to become fully registered.

Dates, venues and times can be found here.

Funding to support provisionally registered teachers

Early childhood services can apply for $2,872 per provisionally registered teacher to support them to move to full teacher registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

Services can use this funding to provide backfill or paid time release for their teacher and their teacher’s mentor, including any other professional learning that will support them in developing their teaching practice.

Further details on how to access the funding can be found here.

Free mentors for provisionally registered teachers

DET is working with Gowrie Victoria to provide free mentors for provisionally registered teachers who want to move to full teacher registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
