For everyone Psychological injury due to lack of DET support

Redlich’s recently assisted a client settle a case for a psychological injury she sustained during her employment as a primary school principal.

Work-related psychological injury cases are much less straightforward than those involving physical injuries.

Our client suffered her injury predominately due to the lack of support offered by the Department, despite its awareness of our client’s excessive workload, and problems caused by a student with behavioural issues and the need to work with his parents and disability advocate.

Without the need for court proceedings, we assisted our client to achieve a settlement through negotiations with WorkCover. In a rare outcome, our client’s case was settled for a six-figure sum that represented both her pain and suffering and her loss of earnings.
