TAFE & Adult Provision Seeking state-wide agreement

The AEU is currently negotiating a new state-wide Disability Multi-enterprise Agreement (MEA) Victoria, with former Fair Work Commissioner Julius Roe assisting negotiations. Commissioner Roe has a good understanding of the NDIS and the disability sector, including the need for skilled and experienced staff.

The majority of current MEA disability services were present in negotiations, including bargaining agent Jobs Australia. Currently, 27 employers have signed up to be party to the agreement. The more employers who sign up, the more bargaining power we have.

Any disability members aware that their employer is not currently signed up to the agreement should contact their employer association or representative. Urge your non-member colleagues to join the union at aeuvic.asn.au/join – the more members we have, the greater our chances of improving your pay and conditions.

Negotiations are focused on maintaining and setting industry standards, achieving higher wages and better conditions. Key issues currently under discussion include maintaining 15 days of personal leave, mandates on COVID vaccinations, and ensuring that provisions such as portable long service leave are implemented.
