Early Childhood Stay connected

This year has had an exciting start, as we welcome the rollout of free kindergarten. There is no doubt that this is going to be a big year for our sector.

AEU members will have the opportunity for plenty of engagement, including in the log of claims process for the VECTEA and EEEA agreements; the consultation process for the expansion of the kinder programs; free PD sessions; our annual EC conference; the Yes campaign to support a First Nations Voice to Parliament; and much more.

Participating in your AEU regional meetings is a great way to stay connected, as is linking in with established local networks. You can share the load by rotating which colleagues attend.

There is power in having a conversation, especially when welcoming new staff into our teams. Opening dialogue within your workplace is a strong way to highlight the importance and value of unionism.

The new year is a good time to remember to prioritise our own wellbeing, too, knowing that we cannot pour from an empty cup.

To support your professional wellbeing, make sure that you know and understand your rights, and recognise the importance of staying connected, informed and active. Knowledge is power.
