TAFE & Adult Provision Upping the pressure

Right now, agreement negotiations at the 12 standalone Victorian TAFEs have been suspended. In theory, the substandard offer on the table could be accepted, but you and I both know that TAFE staff are worth more – the jobs you do are complex, your skills are in demand, and your conditions and salaries should reflect that.

The single interest employer agreement secured by AEU TAFE teachers last year gives you the ability to take protected industrial action to advance your claims.

We plan to build up from stopworks of one hour, to a statewide 24-hour day of action, and further action if needed.

When large groups of union members band together, the media takes notice, students become aware, and the broader community listens. More importantly, the government and TAFEs will have to focus on finding the funds to deliver the agreement you deserve.
